Midlands ISS- 1st Limit Dog, Best Dog & RESERVE BEST IN SHOW
A well shaped masculine head with no hint of coareness, dark unshelled almond eye, excellent overall balance, gently sloping topline, short hock to heel, small tight feet, free flowing movement, well handled and presented in lovely bloom. BD and RBIS.

Crufts- 3rd Limit Dog
Glamorous boy with quality head. Lovely reach of neck fitting into refined shoulders. Straight front, well bodied and good rear angulation. Well set tail. Needs to tighten up on the the move.

ISBC- 2nd Mid Limit Dog
One I have admired from the ringside and was close up to 1 he was in the most lovely full coat so well constructed throughout, lovely head, good firm top line, super front, neck and shoulders, good bone and neat feet.

Scottish Kennel Club Championship Show - 1st Limit Dog & RCC
In top form today looked a picture in shining coat and moving soundly, excellent conformation and very good head, did well to win this excellent class, just lost to the CC winner on maturity, RCC.

Bath Championship Show - 1st Limit Dog
A grand dog beautifully balanced, excellent outline and conformation, quality head, good eye, the colour and break in his coat appeal greatly, I was considerably impressed, his day will undoubtedly come - he is so relatively young at only ust 2yrs 4 months, he will be something to reckon with when he has that little extra maturity to add to his many attributes, close up for RCC on the day.

Paignton Championship Show - 1st Limit Dog
An impressive quality dog in profile and on the move, he has a super dark coat in excellent condition and with movement. His head is balanced and with expression set on clean lines. I liked his size but would prefer slightly more chest between his front limbs when free stood.

East of England Championship Show - 1st Mid Limit Dog, DCC & BEST OF BREED
Nice example of the breed, refined but masculine neck merges harmoniously with the shoulders, classic head, lovely eye and expression, moderately deep muzzle, a dog of quality.

National Gundog Championship Show - 1st Limit Dog & RCC
Lovely headed dog with the gentle sweet expression required in an Irish Setter. Good front with good breast bone and well laid shoulders. Nice ribcage through to strong quarters from which he moved well. Good textured coatand colour, would just like the coat a little flatter. At 2 and a half years old he still has a lot of time.

Bournemouth Championship Show - 1st Limit Dog
A most attractive eye catching dog. Lovely head and expression. Well made with great bone. Deep chest, true front with small tight feet nicely trimmed. Good neck and shoulders, nice topline. Strong quarters with well bent stifles and his movement was excellent.

Welsh Kennel Club Championship Show - 2ndOpen Dog
This dog has the same sire as my class winner and it shows in the good movement that they have inherited. He is a slightly different type though darker coat, darker eyes. I have done well for him in the past and still admire his qualities. Strong all through kept his topline on the move.

SEISC Open Show - RESERVE BEST IN SHOW
Another handsome dog with lovely head and expression. Well balanced with good angulation throughout. Moved soundly. Reserve Best Dog and Reserve Best In Show.

Scottish Kennel Club Championship Show - 1st Open Dog, BEST OF BREED, GUNDOG GROUP 1
Breed Judge
Outstanding class of top dogs. The undoubted star of the day. Super boy now in the prime ofhis life. Excells in breed type and unexaggerated well balanced conformation. Lovely masculine but refined head. Proportionate body and ruggedness and hismovement was positive and free flowing. Presented in full glossy coat and carrying the right amount of weight. In this form must be hard to beat. I warded him the CC and BOB and was delighted to see him win the strong Gundog Group.
Gundog Group Judge
The Winner was the superb 4 year old Irish Setter, Sh Ch Kirkavagh Fidalgo JW. I thought he dominated this group with his sheer animation and sound movement. In gleaming condition and so well put together. The most lovely headed dog with a super neck and shoulders, great body and quarters with nice tail action.

N.B. Unfortunately Cohdy's owner was unable to stay up in Scotland for another day therefore forfeiting his well derserved place in the Best In Show Ring.

North East of England ISC- 1st Open Dog
Lovely breed type, quality and substance, not trying hard enough here.

2005
Crufts - 2nd Open Dog and RCC
A worthy show Champion. So much to admire. Superior in head to winner and really more my size and balance, but whilst he was prepared and shown to deservedly receive his RCC here. I have seen him in superior coat and you need to be firing on all cylinders to top winner in this top notch condition and beat him on showmanship.

Leeds Championship Show - 1st Open Dog and CC
A striking quality dog. I have done this dog well before and although it was a few years ago, he doesn't disappoint me now. He has matured into the finished animal in excellent condition throughout. He had a balanced head and with soft expression set on clean lines. A good sized dog with sufficient rib and depth with a firm, gently sloping topline to square finish to his quarters. Can carry his tail a little high at times on the move but couldn't deny him the CC today.

South of England Irish Setter Club - 1st Open Dog and BEST IN SHOW
An outstanding dog who I was thrilled to get the chance to go over. Beautiful balanced outline, all parts fitting together smoothly with no exaggerations. Wonderful head and expression, so balanced and displaying so many of the qualities that define a true 'Irish' head. Shown in tip top condition. Moves with elegance and drive. South of England Irish Setter Club - 1st Open Dog
Gorgeous head with correct quizzical expression. Very good front, well laid shoulders. Sloping topline leading to well set tail of which he was slightly proud of on the day. Well angulated and muscled up hindquares which enabled him to move soundly and confidently. To be critical I would prefer a touch more length to his body

Manchester Championship Show - BEST OF BREED

Super rib cage with good spring of rib and depth; with ribs taken well back. Wide, powerful quarters with well-developed first and second thighs enabling a strong driving action on the move. Crystal Palace Open Show - 1st Open & Best of Breed
Handsome 7 year old dog in fanatstic coat and condition. My sort of good old fashioned Irish Setter. Lovely hindquarters. Moved really well to win this class over a quality bitch who didn't quite have the same enthusiasm to show herself on the day.

There is nothing exaggerated about him. He has a beautiful head of good shape with raised brows, combined with excellent conformation. Went well holding his topline on the move. Just lacking a little enthusiasm on the day.

2008
Birmingham National Ch Show - 2nd Open & RCC
I gave this dog the RCC at Crufts in 2005. He was very much in contention for the CC today. I do not think I have seen him looking better at 8 years. He is a great credit to his sporting caring owner and his breeder. His condition was quite exceptional and he moved really well with animation and drive for his runner. Such an exceptionally classic head. His excellent attributes are there for all to see.- no need to list them here. A really worthy Sh.Ch. as indeed were those standing behind him in the line-up. I was only too pleased to give him the RCC. I would have liked two CC's to award here.

Southern Counties Ch Show - 1st Veteran Dog
A well deserved win in this class for this dog who has had much said about him. Carrying his age at 8 years well, he has a classic Irish head with dark eye and kind expression in good coat and condition well Muscled and moved well today.

Substantial bitch but still retains femininity. Gorgeous head and expression, strongly made body of the correct proportions, good front and forechest. Moved OK.

Paignton Championship Show - 2nd Limit Bitch
Well moving bitch, just a tad too much all over for me, despite this she is overall in proportion with herself. In good condition and well presented.

National Gundog Championship Show - 2nd Mid Limit Bitch
Another super bitch that must be handled to be appreciated, although rangier than I normally prefer I was quite taken with her. Her well developed first and second thigh was reflected in her positive movement. She has a very kind and gentle expression. Pretty eye, arched neck. Straight front and great depth of chest.

Darlington Championship Show - 2nd Limit Bitch
In immacualte coat and condition. Seemed a little longer cast than first and did not move so enthusiastically around the ring. A good bitch, sound all through. Greatd epth and brisket and good angulation in her hindquarters.

Gundog Society of Wales Championship Show - 1st Mid Limit Bitch
Full sister to my CC winner. Stylish bitch, well proportioned head with good chiselling, strong neck, good shoulder placement. Well angulated front. Good depth to body, strong loin. Well off for bone and substance. Could have been a bit more enthusiastic on the move.

East of England Championship Show - 1st Graduate Bitch
A real stunner in and around the ring. Good conformation and balance.

Leeds Championship Show - 2nd Graduate Bitch
A younger bitch giving away a little to my winner. However she was in equally good condition and perhaps slightly better coupling, good forehand with straight front, not quite as enthusiastic on the move as I would have liked.

Richmond Championship Show - 1st Graduate Bitch
Absolutely beautiful. Such an elegant feminine outline. Lovely head, attractive line of neck into topline. Good front, well balanced body. Beautifully presented gleaming coat. Good in profile movement.

2006
South of England ISClub - 1st Graduate Bitch
I have not changed my opinion on this bitch since the first time I judged her. She has so much going for her, nothing shouts at you, everything fits. NEEISC Championship Show - 1st Mid Limit Bitch
Overall an outstanding bitch. Shown in full coat and beautifully presented as always from this kennel. Prettiest head and soft expression with lovely earset. Clean over the neck and shoulders. In the final run-off I felt she did not cope so well with the floor on the move. At 3 years old she has so much time on her side but still pushed the eventual CC & RCC winners extrememly hard.

Midland Counties Championship Show - 1st Limit Bitch & CC
Lovely bitch from all angles. Pretty well shaped head with kind expression. Racy all through but with substance. Good neck and shoulders. Deep brisket. Well ribbed up. Excellent coat and colour. Correct angles front and rear. Went well. CC.

ISC of Wales Championship Show - 2nd Mid Limit Bitch

LKA Championship Show - 2nd Limit Bitch
Quality in abundance, just not the depth of forechest of winner but a lovely bitch as one would expect from this kennel. Super presentation and gleaming rich chestnut coat on both.

South of England Irish Setter Club Championship Show - 2nd Limit Bitch
More my size of bitch, not the strength behind as I'd like but nonetheless, quality and type. Her presentation hides nothing.

Midlands Irish Setter Society Championship Show - 2nd Limit Bitch
A bitch I have always admired, beautiful head, so well balanced, lovely low set ears, very feminine, excellent neck, well angulated, a very difficult decision with the winner but today she just lacked a finish in furnishings, moved very well.

CRUFTS - 2nd Limit Bitch
Fabulous clean lines and beautifully presented which one expects from this kennel. Sadly though she had left her coat behind. Classic head expression.

ISBC - 1st Limit Bitch & RCC
One I liked, full of quality. Super head and excellent, beautifully put together, dark eye. Correct neck and shoulder leading into good topline and tail set. Nice short hocks and tight feet. Excellent coat. Moved well and true. My RCC.

Bath - 2nd Limit Bitch
Another classic exhibit from the kennel, presented in the best of coat and condition, very close to the winner

Belfast Irish Setter Club Championship Show- 1st Limit Bitch, BCC & BEST IN SHOW
This gorgeous bitch had to be my CC and BIS. Faultless make and shape combined with complete femininity, no exaggeration anywhere. Particularly good in shoulder placement. Loved her head and wistful expression, one of the few with correct almond shaped eyes. Moved soundly and with drive in spite of her owner being handicapped by a recent injury.

Three Counties Championship Show- 2nd Limit Bitch
I also liked this bitch. I would loved to have been able to give her a red card and the decision was very close. Same remarks apply I just thought that my winner moved with more verve.

Windsor Championship Show- 2nd Limit Bitch
A beautiful bitch, combining substance with elegance. As one would expect, in perfect coat and condition. Liked her head and expression and, standing, I thought she would be my winner. A pity that she was so reluctant to move, but who can blame her under those conditions?

Paignton Championship Show- 1st Limit Bitch & BCC
Beautiful feminine girl with flowing unbroken lines, exquisite headpiece, raised brow well moulded skull, and quite the finest of eyes. Outstanding in quality and on the move. A cracking bitch, delighted to award her the CC. I gather this gives her her title.

East of England Championship Show- 1st Limit Bitch & RCC
Won this class as soon as she walked into the ring. Classy bitch. Lovely coat and condition. Sweet expression. Good length of neck, bend of stifle and tailset. A great outline. RCC.

National Gundog Championship Show- 1st Limit Bitch
Have admired this lady from a baby and she has matured into a bitch with a stunning outline, simply flowing from head to tail. Pretty feminine head, lovely through the neck and shoulder, super topline andtailset. So racy and elegant in profile, skillfully handled and presented in tip top condition as alwasy by this exhibitor. Has recently gained her crown and thouhgt she might gain top honours today. However, appeared affected by the heat and although moving soundly, did not show the animation and drive I was looking for in the challenge.

Blackpool Championship Show- 2nd Limit Bitch
Lovely head and eye. Well constructed throughout. Shown in excellent coat and show condition. Standing well on her hindquarters. Positive front action but would prefer more width behind.

Bournemouth Championship Show- 1st Limit Bitch & CC
Such a lovely class of quality ladies – thank you all for the opportunity of examining them. Judging I believe is always a compromise; delighting in a dogs virtues and giving due consideration to its faults. To fault judge is easy - but to truly thrill in a beauty is such a pleasure. 1 and CC Kings Kirkavagh Jumilla. JW Already a champion and deservedly so. I have admired her on the stand on many occasions but it is only when one is fortunate enough to put hands on her does she really come into her own. I found her truly beautiful. Every inch of her just flows from her lovely head through her wonderful front assembly, deep chest, correct ribbing, strong loins and her strong rear quarters. She presents a complete picture of balance, quality and raciness. I was delighted to be awarding her the CC today. I was totally smitten by her.

Richmond Championship Show- 1st Open Bitch & RCC
Elegant bitch full of raciness. In full coat. Well balanced. Heads of bitches in this kennel improves all the time. Moves with her handler. Pleased to award her RCC.

Darlington Championship Show- 2nd Open Bitch
Gorgeous head, expression. Mature and balanced body. In beautifully presented gleaming coat. Stacked looked a picture, just a little slack in topline on the move here.

2008
CRUFTS - 3rd Open Bitch
A lovely bitch to go over. Quality with substance. Feminine head, balanced throughout, clean in neck and good shoulders, firm topline, well set-on tail and good bend of stifle. In lovely condition and moving well on the day.

ISBC Championship Show - 2nd Open Bitch
A pretty feminine bitch with the sweetest expression. She has a lovely reach of neck and flowing topline. Well-laid back shoulders and excellent quarters. Lovely coat and condition. Moved well but not with quite the drive and sparkle that she is capable of.

Southern Counties Championship Show - 1st Open Bitch
A favourite of mine who has the quality one would expect from this kennel, lovely head and expression sound well made body depth and rib well angulated quarters, sound movement just not putting her all in on the day most worthy of her title.
